Tamarack Kennel Club Agility Fun Day

Dock Diving
Held at the only regulation outside dock diving platform in northwestern Pennsylvania.  Competitions for distance and height.  Small fee per splash. All skill levels welcome.  Generally starts at 10 am. Contact Sherry at  814-336-9442

Canine Carnival at the Bark Park
Activities include canine muttrimony, blessing of the animals, wedding party costume contest, wedding reception, vendors, entertainment, refreshments, therapy dog testing

Geert’s Canine Cancer Walk, with sponsored donations to Univ. of Pennsylvania Vet School. In addition the Fall festival, a fun time with games, photos, costumes, etc.

2nd Annual Bark Park 5K Run/Walk
Benefits Bark Park programs and the local pet therapy group.  Trophies awarded for first three male and female 5K runners and walkers.  Chip timing by Runner’s High. Bandanna and prizes for canines participating in the 1-mile dash for dogs.  Free t-shirts for human participants

2014 WINTER SEMINAR SCHEDULE

The mission of the Bark Park is to promote responsible pet ownership while providing an opportunity for dog owners to be better informed on issues surrounding the health and welfare of their dog. Each winter the Bark Park provides seminars covering a variety of topics ot interest to pet owners.

Our wintern seminars are held at the Dog House at 12704 Foust Road on the grounds of the Bark Park. Seminars include coffee,  doughnuts and other refreshments. Massage for Dogs: Carol Redlawsk will introduce the relaxing practice of pet massage. It is known to help pets with circulatory mobility, overall wellness and even behavioral issues. Puppies learn that all parts of their bodies are ok for touching. Older pets  benefit from the warm touch and increased muscle flexibility.

Bring your pet and a soft mat or blanket to sit on. All pets should be on a leash and under control.

February 22nd

At Home First Aid for Dogs: Wendi Steffe will lead a session that covers the basics of Pet First Aid as promoted by the American Red Cross. The price of this seminar covers the cost of the first aid manual. Red Cross Certification is also available for an additional charge.

March 14th Essentials Oils for You and your PetJoin Karen Vasecka for a discussion of how the use of essential oils can help manage many of your pet's most challenging health and behavior issues. Karen will address the treatment of common doggy problems such as arthritis, digestive issues, anxiety, hyperactivity, skin problems, infections, tumors and more with the use of essential oils.
 
March 22nd What's in your Pet's Food and Top Ten Pet Food Supplements: this seminar will help you to demystify pet food ingredients and have you become more knowledgeable about pet food labels. In addition, we will discuss the latest research and information about the top ten supplements every owner should stock in their pet wellness arsenal. Christine McCallum is President of Aivilas, Inc., a natural dog and cat food company, and a third generation master herbalist and Certified Natural Health Professional for humans and animals.
