Introducing the day stay!
Day Stay and day care for your canine companion are both great programs but do have some different things to consider. Both programs provide an alternative to your dog spending time alone at home confined to a particular area or even crated. Both programs do provide a safe and secure environment for your dog.
There is one major difference between day stay and day care that must be considered. Just how well does your dog interact and play well with other dogs. For the geriatric dog, a dog with health concerns, an overly aggressive dog, “bully” dogs, or the unsocialized dog, day care generally is not a great idea. These are examples of dog behavior that can be questionable in day care but should work in a day stay program.
At Conneaut Lake Bark Park, all dogs in day stay will receive a minimum of 2 walks a day, regular potty breaks, and playtime if appropriate with a staff member and limited day care if available. Additional services available upon request with include nature walks, swimming or dock diving with a life vest and tether, and grooming options.
Check in will be from 8am – 10 am and pick-up 4pm – 6pm. At Conneaut Lake Bark Park, proof of shot record is required including vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Lepto, Bordetella and clear Fecal. Flea & Tick Request
In addition to vaccinations, all dogs should be on a regular flea and tick preventative. All overnight and Day Stay guests will be examined at check in for fleas and/or ticks. If fleas and/or ticks are present the pet will need to be treated at the owner's expense. If your pet is on flea and tick prevention we will need to know what product and when you applied it to the pet.
Starting April 1 2019 for sanitation purposes, we will not be allowing any of your pet's own bedding, blankets or pillows into our facility. We will provide everything your pup needs, including raised cots which is designed to keep our guests off the concrete floor and on top of that, we put down our own very comfortable, machine-washable, soft bedding. For our older guests that are having arthritis issues – we double up the padding in their runs using large, thick blankets, so they are kept very comfortable while boarding.
Flea Powders/Collars are not acceptable, with the exception of the Seresto Collar.
