Canine Carnival, Bark for Life, Dock Diving, and Much More

Coming August 7th to Conneaut Lake Bark Park

Conneaut lake Bark Park will be the outdoor setting for the Canine Carnival on Saturday, August 7th, from 10 am – 3 pm.  Come and share the day with the family dog or just visit our event and enjoy the many breeds always on hand at our activities. The schedule of events for the Canine Carnival will include sessions entitled “Meet the Breeds”, agility demonstrations by the Tamarack Dog Agility Club, a costume contest at Noon entitled “Fun in the Summertime” and the Crowning of the 2010 CLBP Queen and King.  Meet the Breeds will provide an opportunity for present and future pet owners to better understand the responsibilities and special considerations associated with owning certain breeds of dogs. There will be many owner/canine games including the favorite obstacle course, sit/stays, and musical sits just to name a few.  There is a $1.00 fee per event to participate in the owner/canine games, the costume contest, and the King and Queen pageant.

From 10 am to 1 pm we will have a Bark for Life event.  Registration and pre-registration confirmation begins at 9:00 am.  This event has been organized by Hannah Fisher from Cochranton High School as her senior graduation project.  The event will begin with a Blessing of the Animals at 10:10 am for canines participating in the walk. More information and a complete tentative schedule of all events is available at the bark park and can also be found on the bark park web site at www.conneautlakebarkpark.com. or contact Hannah directly at 814-547-8091 to pre-register for the Bark for Life.

Another new activity currently under construction at the bark park this summer is dock diving.  We have planned two sessions at the Canine Carnival on dock diving which will include both an explanation and demonstration of the event. Come and see whether your dog can learn to be an active participant in dock diving.

If you have almost new dog supplies, gadgets, crates, etc. that you would like to sell for a small profit, consider setting up a table at the Flea (no fleas) Market which will take place during the entire time of the Canine Carnival.  The cost for a space is $5.00.  For more information contact the bark park at           814-382-2267, 382-2478.  Vendor space at the Canine Carnival is also available to local businesses.

Finally, we will have entertainment through-out the carnival provided by local jazz groups.  So, mark your calendar for a great time at the bark park.  Participate in the Bark for Life, canine/owner games, costume contests and the crowning of the Bark Park 2010 King and Queen. Don’t forget to find out more about dock diving, and discover more about your favorite dog breeds.   All events at the bark park are open to the general public with or without the family dog.

Refreshments will be available at the event.
