“SATURDAY CANINE SOCIAL TIME”

Starting next Saturday June 19th, at 10 am. to 12 pm. we want to start promoting more social contact/fun time for our canine members.

Below is a list of the Saturday’s when we will provide “Saturday Canine Social Time” at the bark park.  Coffee and donuts  (as long as the donuts last) will be provided.

June 19, and June 26

August 14, and August 21

July 17 and 24

1.    This is a way canine owners can meet and make arrangements for additional scheduled playtime with other dogs.

2.    Consider the off-leash areas, taking a leisurely walk on the walking trails, or a swimming get together.

3.   On most of the Saturday, one of the bark park trainers will be available to answer any particular concerns.

You can log onto the web site and go to the chat section under Saturday Canine Social Time and request other pet owners to meet for the dogs to play.  Should be up and running this week.

You can also leave a message on the bulletin board in the trailer under 4 Paws Pals and try to hook up with other pet owners. Just fill out the appropriate small form and wait for results.

Remember to choose playmates carefully and consider age of the dogs, and especially the energy level of the dogs.

Finally, be familiar with the guidelines for use of the off-leash areas which are posted on the web site.

Find other canines that want to play at the Bark Park!

Post in the box below:

Example: "Would anyone like to meet up on Thursday, May 14th at 7:00 pm at the Bark Park to play with litle Scarlet, my Welsh Corgi?

       July 2010

1.        CLICK HERE for the newest edition of the bark park newsletter.  Hard copies are available also at the bark park.

2.       A new and exciting addition to programs at the bark park will be “dock diving”.  We were able to find an individual who has been teaching it for years and recently moved to Grove City.  We will begin construction of the dock area tomorrows.  We hope to start classes in mid August.  If you or anyone you know is interested, please pass this information on to them.

3.       The dock area will be 40 feet long and 8 feet wide.  We need to find a company willing to donate astro-turf to the project.  If you know of any college or high school that has recently worked with astro-turf, let me know so we can contact them in hopes of getting the necessary materials donated.  We have lots of 4x4 for much of the construction but will need some plywood.  If you know of any company willing to donate materials, let me know.

4.       If you like the dog park, go to bringfido.com and write a review of the park.  If you find any dog park web site that does not include CLBP, please let me know so we can get the information to the web site about the dog park.

5.       The Tamarack dog agility trials are July 30, 31 and Aug 1.  Trials usually occur between 9-2:00.  No admission fee and this is a dog friendly event. Refreshments are available for purchase.

6.       The Canine Carnival will be on August 7th.  Highlights include the costume contest, the crowning of the 2011 BP king and queen, agility demonstrations, an obstacle course and a special event, Meet the Breeds.  Also, several local jazz groups are scheduled to play through-out the day,  The Canine Carnival is from 10-4 on August 7th.  Hannah Fisher, a senior at Cochranton Sr. High is doing a Bark for Life for her senior projects.  Information is available on the website.
